Woodlands BC women gear up for PN fours

WITH Wednesday being a public holiday, a few Woodlands Bowling Club members decided to make it a long weekend and go away and as a result not much was happening until Sunday.
The results of the shirts and skirts on Sunday saw first session won my Gloria Rice, Arthur Carlyle, Andy Cloete and Lynn Carlyle.
Second session was won by Denis Gericke, Keith Wild, William Richardson and Dave McCann and the overall winners were Kim Hawkins, Chris Klopper, Robbie Carr and Ken Thomas. Gwen Tait grabbed the R40 from the money board and the dribblings of R20 went to Ken Thomas. The pork roast was won by Gloria Rice and the drawn prizes were: skip Errol Pienaar, third Claude Newman. Second Denis Hearnshaw and lead Brian Kimber.
The Port Natal fours will start play on Sunday, 5 October and Woodlands women's team is comprised of Gloria Rice, Rina Harper, Linda Hewer and Lynn Carlyle and one men’s team, the names of which are to be announced. Good bowling to both teams.

On Friday night the meat draw was won by Glen de Wildt, Abie Joubert and Gordon (grandpa) Tarboton. The snowball is another carry over as Gordon Tarboton was not there to grab the winnings. The swindle raffle was won by Dave Leuchars twice, Dennis Tarboton twice, Cobus Janse van Vuuren, Mike McFarland, Kieth Nel and George Moore. The Lotto bonus ball was won by Lyndon Smith.
