WENTWORTH Bowling Club had a quiet week due to the rain.
Results for the Bluff Meats men’s pensioners bowls played on Friday, 3 October: First prize was won by Graham Bransby, Dave Carroll and Tomcat Cavanagh with + 26.
Second prize went to John Somerville and Robin DeGouveia with + 10. Gerald Castor Royle, Brian Deats and Stan McKenzie took the sportsman prize. The pork raffle was won by Tomcat Cavanagh. The 60/40 board was won by Willie Gericke and Ina Davies.
Results for the chicken run played on Sunday, 5 October: Winners were John Somerville and Herbie Roux, second prize went to Ben Newton and Robin DeGouveia. The 60/40 board was won by Anne Bonthrone and Willie Gericke. Ellen Loots won the meat draw.
The competition secretary wants to thank the greenkeeper and staff for their excellent maintenance of the greens, it looks very good. Well done guys.
Events for the next week: Wednesday, 8 October at 3pm, family and friends fun bowls. Friday, 10 October Bluff Meats men’s pensioners bowls at 9am.
Sunday, 12 October chicken run, 2-4-2 pairs at 9am, for those not playing in any other games.
