Mweli’s junior win swells YWP AC’s pride

YELLOWWOOD Park Athletics Club time trials results from Wednesday, 22 October:

2.5km run: Garth Hancock 10.20, Damon Schoon 13.45, Claire Gillespie 14.25, JP Sharrock 14.35, Hayden Ormshaw 14.53, Garath Ormshaw 14.53, William Gillespie 19.40.

4km run: Mpumelelo Mweli 14.33 (personal best), Duba Owami 14.34, Martin Birtwhistle 18.24, Gareth Hornby 23.53, JP Wessels 23.53.

8km run: Sibusiso Mgobhozi 34.32, Sydney Khuzwayo 34.32.

YWP AC offers hearty congratulations to Mpumelelo Mweli on being the first junior home in the South Coast Half Marathon on the weekend. Mpumelelo ran a very commendable 1 hour 24 minutes over a tough course, and is YWP AC's first junior to win his category in many years. The club can safely say: “watch this space”.
