Scouts of service in Mineshaft race

A special note must be made of Wesley McIntosh, who walked the 12km distance from the first watering table to the finish.

ON Sunday, 23 November the 1st Yellowwood Park Scouts and Cubs assisted at the Queensburgh Harriers Mineshaft 15km race.

These youngsters were out of bed at 4am to be on time for the start of the race at 5am.

These little Scouts and Cubs aged between seven and 18-years-old gave up their Sunday morning to walk the distance of the race, picking up empty water sachets and bottles after the runners had passed through, to enable the streets to remain clean.

A special note must be made of Wesley McIntosh, who walked the 12km distance from the first watering table to the finish. Well done Wesley.
