Mike, Jackie are Wanderers’ mixed pairs champions
The men’s handicap singles got off to a start on Saturday morning with three rounds scheduled to be played.

THE Acutts fours skins attracted 14 teams to Wanderers Bowling Club on Sunday, 21 December and with Norman Moore’s team of himself with Phil Pieterse Val McCaffrey and Johan Nel on the perch, which was worth R250, they got off to a great start by winning the first session with a full 10 points and a plus 18.
In the second session they garnered a further eight points with a plus four to give them an overall score of 18 plus 22, which is not bad. However, it was not good enough to take the perch prize as Dennis Gericke with Chris Klopper, Peter Prenger and Gordon Chislett scored 9+4 in the first session and 10+14 in the second, to give them a slightly better overall points standing – by one point – of 19+18. First session winners were the family team of Charles and Nicola Bauristhene, Michelle and Debbie Nortje with 10+12. The Queensburgh team of Kevin (in for Mark Vermeulen), Pam Kitchen, Lynne and Rodney Kitchen took the second session with an eight plus 12. The sportsman’s prize went to Woodland’s Dixie, Alan Bouwer, John Campbell and Andy Cloete with a 0-26.
Jeff Bolt (R40) and Lorraine Du Preez (R20) shared the 60/40 board spoils and Richard Hendicott, generous as always, won the turkey raffle and promptly donated it to Lionel. Jo-Anne Jordaan celebrated her birthday with the whole of Vic’s bar singing ‘happy birthday’ to her.
