Luvuyo crowned Wenworth BC’s open men’s single champ

There was no chicken run due to Northern Cape district team that played a bounce game against Wentworth.

AT Wentworth Bowling Club, the Tuesday men’s pensioners was played on 3 March with Ken Koch and Robin De Gouveia emerging in first place and Terry Micholson and Herbie Roux taking second place.

The 60/40 board was won by Ken Koch and Robin De Gouveia.

In the family and friends fun bowls played on Wednesday, 4 March, first prize went to Frank Greyvenstein and Zoe Dougall and Dirk Venter and Johann Vorster took the sportsman prize, while Frank Greyvenstein and Terry Micholson won the 60/40 board.

The Bluff Meats men’s pensioners was played on Friday, 6 March with first prize going to John Somerville, Gerald C Royle and Neil Smith. Second prize was taken by Graham Bransby, Robin De Gouveia and Stan McKenzie. Sportsman prizes was given to all players. The 60/40 board was won by Tomcat Cavanagh and Barbara Gericke. Terry Micholson took home the beef.

There was no chicken run due to Northern Cape district team that played a bounce game against Wentworth. The club enjoyed the game and wishes them luck in the coming week as they play in the SA Districts tournament.

Congrats to Luvuyo who is the champion after winning the club’s men’s open singles for 2015.

There will be no chicken runs on 15 and 22 March due to other competitions. The Grace Hare Trips is postponed to 4 September due to unforeseen circumstances.

Club wishes Jumbo Nel all the best with surgery on Tuesday, thoughts and prayers are with him. Congrats to barwoman Krystal on her wedding with Marc, wishing them many more happy years.

Events for the next week: Tuesday, 10 March at 9am, the South Coast men’s pensioners; Wednesday, 11 March at 3pm family and friends fun bowls; Friday, 13 March at 9am Bluff Meats men’s pensioners bowls.
