Eric, Joan, Claude in trips final at Wanderers BC
After the prize giving, Adam Fanner entertained the crowds with his mesmerising and fabulous guitar sounds and song.
ONE semi final of the Wanderers Bowling Club mixed drawn trips was played out on Saturday.
Eric Smit, Joan Bruce and Claude Newman made it into the finals of the event when they beat Kim Hawkins, Bill Addinall and Debbie Nortje 25-15.
The other semi had to be postponed owing to Margaret ‘Honey’ Kitchenbrand having to go into hospital for treatment. The club is rooting for you ‘Honey’ and trusts, hopes and prays that you will emerge totally whole.
In Sunday’s breakfast trips, the runaway winners with a score of 4+27 was the team of Jimmy and Barbara Neill with Terry Brown. That was a good score considering the large field and opposition. Derek Stevens, playing with Chantal and Denis Hearnshaw managed a distant second place with 4+16.
Both sessions were won by visiting teams. First session winners from Stella Park were Clive Du Plooy, Ron Davids and Judie on 2+10 and the second session went to Toti visitors Dave Gardner, Neville Roscoe and Clyde Roberts on 2+15. Ken Koch, Rob Carr and Kosi picked up the sportsman’s prize. The four board winners were Kim Hawkins, Brian Cox, Shaun McAlister and Gwen Tait.

Last Friday’s R600 snowball was not won as Richard Hendicott was not present. The various meat hamper winners were: Mutton pack Angela Peters; pork steaks and patties Dianne Swann; chicken pack Sharon Carr; pork roast Val Hussey; rump steak Val Hussey; beef lasagne Jeff Bolt.
