Eddie to represent Bluff BC in Champion of Champions

AT Bluff Bowling Club, the monthly Brian and Paula Osman Zutek any pairs took place on Thursday, 21 May with a good complement of 20 teams.
First past the post were the late makeshift team of Robbie Carr and Alex Fisher with 4+26.
Colin Howes and Willam Richardson who scored 14 shots on the last three ends snaffled the first session on +14 while Chris Pozyn and Lorraine picked up the second session on 2+11. The drawn chocolates sweetened Jumbo Nel – skip and Frank Haywards – lead. Robbie Carr also walked away with raffled meat and Tomcat Cavanagh pocketed the 50/50 board. The next Zutek will be on 18 June.

Being the open singles champ, Eddie will now represent Bluff at Port Natal Champion of Champions later in the year, Alex Fisher went down on one knee to be crowned the senior singles champ after beating Dudley Dorrofield 21-14 in the final. Congratulations to both.
In the first round of the women’s drawn trips, there was a tight match that went all the way down to the wire with an extra end being played until Daphne Reinhardt, Lilah Nel and Paula Osman prevailed by 20-18 to beat Sarie Bisset, Bridget White and Chrissie Smith. On Sunday three drawn mixed pairs matches were played with Jorge Santos and Ronel Morel comfortably beating Robert Mhlongo and Rosa Vincent 24-15. Eddie Human and Paula Osman had an easier 27-14 win over Elize Stabelberg and Kurt Spack. Husband and wife Clinton and Sarie Bisset found themselves as opposing skips in the other match with Chrisie Smith and Noel Morel being the respective leads which went right down to the wire with a few chirps in between from the front rank. Sarie and Noel emerged victorious by one shot 21-20.
The Port Natal men’s league resumes on Saturday, 30 May with the A side playing Toti B at home and the B side travelling to Winklespruit. The three selected A teams are Clinton Bisset, Robbie Jonston, Spider Williams and Deon Els; Gary Moffat, Eddie Human, Jorge Santos and Noel Morel; and Dave le Roux, Robert Mhlongo, Dudley Dorrofield and Alex Fisher. The two B teams are Dave Rowe, Norman Robinson, Michael Schudel and Wayne Tonkin along with Brian Osman, Rob Davies, Harvey Simpkin and Kurt Spack. Players are to be at the club by 1.30pm. A bring and braai with share salads will be held at the club next Friday from 6.30pm with a bit of card racing in the bar afterwards. Everyone is welcome to enjoy the fun.
