Hikers take on forest, gorge this weekend
This outing is graded three or moderate and covers a distance of 10kms.

DURBAN Ramblers Hiking Club sets out for the hawaan forest near Umhlanga this coming Saturday, 6 June.0

Meet at the car park opposite the Cabana Beach Hotel in Lagoon Drive at 1.45pm. Walk along the promenade to the hawaan forest and coastal bush, cross the river along the beach (depending on the tide) and back along coastal bush. This hike is graded two, moderate and includes beach walking.
On Sunday, 7 June, hikers traverse Kloof Gorge with hike leader Margret Kirsten.
Call her on 083-783-7852. Hikers are to meet in the main parking area in Kloof Falls Road for an 8.30am start. Parking costs R20.
Walk to the beacon, with a surprise visit – not for the faint-hearted – and down to Sora’s pool for lunch. Return along the river through rough terrain and back uphill to the car park.
