Weekend of winning ways for Elize
Everyone's thoughts and prayers are with Dave Vincent who is still not well.
THERE were a number of Bluff Bowling Club competitions played this weekend.
Starting on Friday night, Elize Stapelberg won the chicken and she finished the weekend by winning both games.
The attendance draw was won Dave Richardson who was not present to claim his prize.
In Saturday’s women’s point singles Elize Stapelberg beat Patricia Buys and in the men’s drawn trips, Clinton Bisset, Hilton Lassick and Kurt Spack beat Eddie Human, Noel Morel and Deon Els.
On Sunday there were two games – nominated and drawn mixed pairs games. In the nominated game Elize Stapelberg and Roger Scott beat Brian and Paula Osman. In the drawn game Jorge Santos and Ronel Morel beat Dave Rowe and Dawn Spack.
This week there is the Zutek any pairs on Thursday, 16 July and the monthly committee meeting is on the same night. Unfortunately the DJ Lashrite clashes with the KwaZulu-Natal open pairs bowling tournament and as the majority of the players that support this sponsored tournament are playing in the KZN tournament, the club has had to cancel on Sunday, 19 July, but the perch money will increase for next month.
