George and Ken do it yet again at roadrunners
The weekend featured the start of the All Natal men’s and womens pairs.

THE roadrunner’s open pairs tournament was held last Wednesday at Wanderers Bowling Club, attracting the usual field of about 16 teams.
Organiser, Ron Jackson was the main winner of the 60/40 board with Ken Thomas taking the minor spoils.
Both these players were also featured in the prizes with regards to their results: Ron Jackson and his partner Graham Ray won the first session with a 2+14 and Ken, playing with George Harris won the overall with a 4+26. This makes them one of the most prolific winning teams at this event, having won the overall and/or session prizes probably more than any other partnership. Eric Smit and Bob Hayward won the second session with a 2+16 and Andy Cloete won the meat raffle. The lotto was not won and there will be another carry over.
The weekend featured the start of the All Natal men’s and womens pairs.
Wanderers had a total of eight men’s entries. Mixed fortunes befell most of the teams, but three pairs combinations made it through to the playoffs by winning their sections. These were Ruaan Victor and Paul White, Johnny Goosen and Mike Freeman and Steve Van Rooyen with Graham Funnell.
Because of the Monday deadline for this issue of the Sun, results could not appear in this issue, but will be updated next week.
The All Natal Fours begins tomorrow (Wednesday), and Wanderers has two teams entered.
Good bowling to all participating players.
Coming up this Wednesday, 22 July is the Lyn Wild’s open pairs in mufti.
