Bluff bowlers barrel on despite rain

On Friday night, 31 July at 6.30pm for 7pm the popular vegetable derby takes place, and members and friends are asked to support this evening.

A NUMBER of competitions were played on Saturday at Bluff Bowling Club, despite the rain.

In the women’s senior singles Glynis Mackrory beat Dawn Spack and in the women’s nominated pairs Elize Stapelberg and Jay Retief beat Janice Rodgers and Paula Osman.

In the men’s nominated pairs Gary Moffat and Jorge Santos beat Harvey Simpkin and Michael Schudel, Wayne Tonkin and Roger Scott beat Dave Rowe and Steve Baker and Noel Morel and Robert Mhlongo beat Hilton Lassak and Rob Davies.

Competitions posted for Saturday afternoon, 1 August are mixed drawn trips. Robert Mhlongo, Kurt Spack and Jay Retief play against Janice Rodgers, Steve Baker and Wayne Tonkin.

In the men’s nominated pairs Dudley Dorrofield and Dave Lavis play Spider Williams and Dave le Roux.

On Friday night, 31 July at 6.30pm for 7pm the popular vegetable derby takes place, and members and friends are asked to support this evening. Light meals will be available.

Sunday, 2 August is the club’s monthly Acutts any pairs competition starting at 9am and Friday, 7 August is the monthly 3-2-1 killer men’s competition, also starting at 9am.
