IN Wednesday’s Lyn Wild open pairs at Wanderers Bowling Club, a smallish field competed for the prizes on offer.

Father and son, Raj and Russell Rangiah won the second session with a 2 + 8 and Ken Thomas and Bob Hayward – both without their usual partners, – teamed up and won the overall first place with a 4+16.

Bob Hayward also won the meat raffle. Kurt Spack was the sole winner of the 60/40 board and Chris Klopper won the lotto. He will have to wait for the return of Ron Jackson though, before the amount of money he won can be established.

In the second round of the men’s nominated pairs, Graham and Roy Funnell demolished Chris Klopper and Bob Hayward 25-4 and Eric Smit and Mike Flack beat Lofty Cawthorne and Archie Fisher by 24-11.

In the opening round of the women’s drawn pairs, Louisa McGlynn and Chantal Hearnshaw beat Lorinne Hawkins and Tanya Carr 30-14.

Next Sunday is the running of the annual Jackie Bollaert Moth tournament at Durban Wanderers and anyone wishing to make a late entry is asked to contact Lofty Cawthorne on 082-659-5252.

Last Friday’s R1,100 snowball was not won as Chris Fourie was not present when his number was drawn.

The various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack and chicken Tommy Simpkins, rolled beef Pieter Coetzee, pork roast Elsa Meredith, rump steak Karyn Wallace, chicken pack Chris Fourie.
