Bluff BC pair bow out in PN women’s final

On Friday night, 25 September there will be a bring and braai.

THE weather did not play ball with Bluff Bowling Club this week, but the one ray of sunshine was that the club’s women’s pairs side of Bridget White and Glynis Mackrory in the Port Natal women’s pairs final ended up second after losing to Louise Larkin and Leonie Koedyk.

Some competitions were played on Saturday, but due to the weather only one was completed.

In the women’s novice singles final, Paula Osman beat Dawn Spack in a closely contested game. In the senior singles game, Glynis Mackrory and Judy Marais will finish their game on Saturday, 26 September at 2pm.

In the one mixed fours game, Daphne Reinhardt’s team came up against Dave Le Roux’s team. This game was also not completed and will continue only on Saturday, 14 November.

Sunday saw the JD Lashrite any pairs being played. The overall winners and now on the perch for next month are Brian and Paula Osman. First session went to Spider Williams and Mouse Ratcliffe and the second session to Jay Retief and Elize Stapelberg. The meat was won by June Foster and the 50/50 board by Eric Miller. Unfortunately the Zutek any pairs had to be cancelled due to the weather.

Men’s competitions posted for next week are nominated pairs, with Gary Moffat and Jorge Santos against Noel Morel and Robert Mhlongo. In a mixed nominated pairs competition, Clinton and Sarie Bisset play Dawn and Kurt Spack.

On Friday night, 25 September there will be a bring and braai. All members and friends are asked to support the club on Saturday, 26 September. Fires will be available from 2pm for those who want to braai and watch the rugby. Sunday there will be no bowls at the club due to Wentworth Bowling Club holding the Big Jim. Members are asked to support Bluff BC’s sister club.
