Johnny, Henni win development bowls

The club coaches are available every Wednesday at 1.30pm to assist new bowlers.

IN a quiet week at Wentworth Bowling Club, the only report is from the Family and Friends development bowls played on Wednesday afternoon.

This week’s winners were Johnny Mooiman du Plessis and Hennie Marais.

The biscuits were awarded to Bokka van der Westhuizen, Lorraine White and Albert Marais. Ellen Loots left with both prizes on the 60/40 board.

Members are reminded of the club AGM on Saturday, 21 November and the annual prize-giving the following Saturday, 28 November. Attendance at these events is vitally important.

An entry list has been posted for the annual men’s Wentworth versus Bluff challenge on Sunday 22 November. Members keen to participate are encouraged to record their intention.

Members of the community who would like to try their hands at the social game of bowls are invited to join in the development activity sponsored by the family and friends guesthouse on Wednesday afternoons. Play starts at 3pm. The club coaches are available every Wednesday at 1.30pm to assist new bowlers. Anyone keen to take advantage of this can contact John Somerville on 083-512-4440.

Condolences are extended to Johnny and Eileen du Plessis and their family after the tragic loss of their sister-in-law.
