Bowlers to pledge allegiance in Boer vs Brits

An entry list for the annual Boers and Brits challenge has been posted. This will be held on 16 December.

THE rain last week put paid to any of the planned bowls at Wentworth Bowling Club.

This week’s bowls involve the Family and Friends Guesthouse development bowls on Wednesday afternoon.

Members of the community who would like to try their hands at the friendly game of bowls are invited to join in this development activity. Play starts at 3pm. The club coaches are available every Wednesday at 1.30pm to assist new bowlers. Anyone keen to take advantage of this can call John Somerville on 083-512-4440.

On Friday morning the club will host the Bluff Meats men’s bowls at 9am. Members are reminded that subs for 2016 are due before 9 December when the Bowls SA database will be updated.

On 31 December the New Year will be heralded in with a game of bowls and a bring and braai. All are welcome. The kitchen is open from Tuesday to Sunday for breakfast, pub lunches and Sunday roast lunches. Contact Ina for details. A big screen is available for those wishing to watch sporting highlights.
