Woodlands BC prepares for upcoming competitions
On Wednesday, 6 January is the “any pairs” competition. To enter a team, call Linda Hewer on 082-724-6575 and on Thursday, 7 January is the casual pairs breakfast.
UNDER hot conditions, the semi-finals of the mixed nominated pairs were played between Harold Dix and Gloria Rice against Colleen Blenner-Hassett and Dave Lloyd at Woodlands Bowling Club.
The winners were Harold Dix and Gloria Rice 16-14.
The men’s singles were played on the other rink between Arthur Carlyle and Andy Cloete. Due to the heat, Arthur withdrew from the game which resulted in Andy winning 17-12. To all the winners well done. The Christmas hamper was drawn and Lindi Samuel won the first hamper with Alan Snow the second hamper.
On Saturday, 19 December also under hot and windy conditions, the men’s trips final was played between Bill Hewer, Alan Bower and Dave Lloyd and Norman Moore, Arthur Carlyle and Bryce Bower. It was a close game with Norman and his team winning 14-11.
The next competition will be the open pairs on Wednesday, 6 January and the casual fours breakfast on Thursday, 7 January.
