Bowlers urged to enter compos early as green closure looms
Sponsored competitions coming up this week are the men's 3-2-1 killer on Friday, and Acutts any pairs on Sunday.

BLUFF Bowling Club reports that the Port Natal Masters was played this weekend, and the club is proud of its six players who were selected to play.
It is hoped that their performances stand them in good stead to qualify again for next year.
This coming weekend sees the Port Natal Champion of Champions competition take place. Spider Williams will be at Stella Park, and Lilah Nel will play at Parkhill. The club wishes these two players good bowling.
On Friday night Trevor Wright was not present to collect the attendance draw, so this jackpot now climbs to R1,020 – well worth spending a few hours at the club.
Men’s competitions were played on Saturday, and in the nominated pairs, Greg Dorrofield and Eddie Human beat Harvey Simpkins and Michael Schudel, while Chris Pozyn and Ryan Warren beat Steve Baker and Allen Ritchie. One game of drawn pairs was also played and Clinton Bisset and Hilton Lassak beat Gary Moffet and Mouse Ratcliffe.
This weekend, the men will play more nominated pairs, while Eddie Human and Harvey Simpkins will battle it out in the final of the senior singles.
The women will play drawn trips and point singles.
Sponsored competitions coming up this week are the men’s 3-2-1 killer on Friday, and Acutts any pairs on Sunday. It has been confirmed that the B green will close on 10 August, probably for six weeks, so sponsored tournament entries will be limited and players are urged to put their names down early to ensure a game.
Members are also reminded that with one green closed, the competition secretaries will be limited as to how many competitions they can post and so players are asked to fulfill their commitments to ensure they assist the secretaries through a bit of a tight schedule. These two people, Chrissie Smith and Kurt Spack are doing a sterling job.
