Bluff BC men and women advance to PN fours semis

Lilah Nel won the attendance draw on Friday night and the club lotto was not won again so the pool is growing if you want to win you need to be there.

THIS year Bluff Bowling Club has done one better than last year.

Last year the men’s side of Robert Mhlongo, Greg Dorrofield, George Santos and Noel Morel won the men’s Port Natal fours.

This year they are back in the semi-finals and there is also a women’s side in the semi-finals. The club wishes the men’s and the women’s side of June Foster, Janice Rodgers, Dawn Spack, and president Phylis Maritz the best of luck on Sunday.

Bluff BC novices are also on a roll as Rhyn Warren, Deon Els, Harvey Simpkin and Chad Wilson are also into the semi-finals of the Port Natal novice pairs. This game will be played at Berea on Saturday morning.

Due to the teams playing on Sunday, the DJ Lashrite has been cancelled this month but it will resume next month.

Results of the 3-2-1 killer sponsored by June Foster and Glynis Mackrory saw first session won by Colin Howes and Dave Mathews. Second session went to Ken Koch and Gary Moffat, while the overall winners were Duncan Wright and Steve Evenwell.

Sportsman’s prize was won by Jumbo Nel and Albert. The meat went to Colin Howes and the board to Allen Ritchie.

Competitions posted for this weekend are men’s drawn fours, and four teams have been posted. The women’s drawn fours final sees Elize Stapelberg, Sarie Bisset, Phylis Maritz and Deidre Koekemoer play Bridget White, Lilah Nel, Ronel Morel and Paula Osman

Results of games played this weekend saw the women’s trips finals go to Elize Stapelberg, Lilah Nel and Jay Retief as they beat Dawn Spack, Kitty Schaefer and Patricia Buys. In a nominated pairs competition, Dave Le Roux and Bridget White beat Gary Moffat and Lilah Nel on an extra end to win by one shot

On Thursday, 20 October it’s the Diving Bell any pairs sponsored by Lilah Nel. On Saturday, 29 October the annual challenge takes place against Wentworth. The women and men are playing so check the notice board to see if you are playing. This game should be a humdinger as this is like Fynnlands versus Bayview in soccer. It is hoped Bluff BC receives lots of support

On Saturday, 19 November we are having a Poitjie Kos competition please phone the club if you would like to enter a team made up of four members all are welcome
