THIS weekend sees the start of the Port Natal men’s pairs sponsored by Durban Wanderers.

Well wishes to all those pairs entering.

There were no club competitions this week, but two sides travelled to Empangeni to represent Wanderers Bowling Club in their annual sponsored weekend.

Accolades again went to Steve van Rooyen and his side of Richard Hendicott, Anthony Carr and Terrance McGlynn, who had a below par start but finished well to claim first prize again, making it five wins in six years. The other side of Gary Moffat, Jeff Bolt, Eric Smit and Tommy Simpkins also did the club proud as they finished fourth.

Friday’s various meat pack winners were: Lamb pack – Martin, beef – Maria, pork roast – Ralph, rump – Cliffy, chicken pack – Foxy, chicken – Cliffy. The R1,100 snowball was a carry over as Jeff Bolt was away.

The Friday lotto of R570 was a carry over, and the joker draw was not drawn last weekend as the organisers took a weekend off, so the pool of about R15,500 is still on offer for this weekend’s draw.

Thoughts and prayers are extended to those members on the recovery list, get well soon fellow Wanderers.
