Woodlands bowlers bow out of PN pairs contest
The weekly meat draw was won by Lizzie first prize with Gordon V taking second prize

WITH the Port Natal pairs competition having started on Sunday, 3 September, there weren’t any club competitions played at Woodlands Bowling Club on Saturday.
Four teams entered the Port Natal pairs competition, being Gloria Rice and Linda Hewer for the women and Bill and Jason Hewer, Norman Moore and Gavin Conlon and Tom and Andy Cloete.
None of the Woodlands teams made it to the next round but a good day of bowls was had by all.
Bowlers are to note that on Wednesday, 6 September the any pairs competition takes place. To enter a team, call Linda Hewer on 082-724-6575 and on Thursday, 7 September it will be the casual fours breakfast.
To enter a team, call Andy Cloete on 083-987-9611. A reminder to all members that the AGM will be held on Saturday, 16 September at 1pm for 1.30pm. All members are to wear white and each should take along a plate of snacks for tea, which will be followed by a game of bowls.
First prize in the sports club’s weekly meat draw was won by Lizzie, with Gordon V taking second prize and Gordon T snapping up the third meat prize. L Hewer’s number was drawn for the snowball and was not won. The club lotto was won by Lizzie – well done. Subs are now due and on Friday, 8 September there will be music in the bar.
