Bluff Bowling Club hosts buzzing fun day

Bowlers enjoyed friendly competitive games and a social braai at the Bowling Fun Day.

BLUFF Bowling Club recently played host to a vibrant Bowling Fun Day, drawing enthusiasts from across the community for a day brimming with camaraderie and spirited competition.

The highlight of the event was the eagerly awaited game of bowls – drawn trips, where teams were randomly selected. The day commenced with two exciting games of bowls, each consisting of 10 ends.

During the prize-giving ceremony, winners were announced, with Jay Retief, Miguel Botha and Angela Hammond claiming the coveted first place in the games of bowls. Their stellar performance was matched by Elize Stapelberg, Paula Osman and Benette Olivier, who secured the second position through commendable skill and teamwork. Adding to the excitement of the day’s events, the session prize was awarded to Kevin Olivier, Sean Lessing and Kyle Boy.

Kevin Olivier, the Bluff Bowling Club’s competition secretary, shared his insights on the post-award activities, stating, “After the prize-giving, we had a game of ‘corner to corner’ for a bottle of brandy, which Bryan Welton emerged victorious in.” Attendees were also treated to a bring-and-braai, offering an opportunity to socialise and enjoy delicious food.

Reflecting on the day’s festivities, Olivier remarked, “It was an awesome day filled with lots of fun. Everyone enjoyed the friendly competitive games and just a great time overall.”

The Bowling Fun Day at the Bluff Bowling Club proved to be a resounding success, showcasing the spirit of community and sportsmanship among participants.
