Recreation Body of the Year recognises an organisation that is outstanding in engaging with communities to include the benefits of recreation and wellness. It reflects Made for More’s commitment and steadfastness to the cause of inclusion and the betterment of lives of people living with a disability through sports.

Anele Zama, general manager of Made for More, said she was immensely proud to have been recognised. “Winning this award means that our province and department officials see the work that we do but, most importantly, it highlights that people living with disabilities have a voice and space in sport and that’s what we stand for as an organisation – inclusion!” she said.

Zama added that for Made for More, this award was more than just a trophy, it was about awareness and reach in the community.

“This recognition means people with disabilities now know that we exist, and they can come to us for any form of sport we offer and join our incredible family. It also raises awareness in our communities about the many abilities people with disabilities have and can showcase once given the platform,” she said.

Made for More aims to equip and empower people living with disabilities by using sport as its medium. They offer programmes, like adaptive surfing and wheelchair basketball and other disciplines, to address personal growth, social inclusion and physical wellness.
