This regional is the fifth of the 10-region series conducted across KZN, with 10 formidable teams participating, making it one of the largest regionals this season. The tournament will, for the first time this season, feature two pools.
Pool B
- Werda Skool
- New Forest High School
- Kingsway High School
- Port Natal Skool
- Rossburgh High School.
Pool A
- Amanzimtoti High School
- Durban Academy
- Gelofte Skool
- Queensburgh Girls’ High School
- Kuswag Skool.
Three-time winners Kuswag Skool will look to reclaim their dominance and unseat Amanzimtoti High School.
Each match will be 15 minutes, with four points awarded for a win, two for a goal draw, one for a goalless draw and zero for a defeat. The best two teams from each pool will advance to the cross-pool playoffs, culminating in the highly anticipated regional final at 14:15.
The Durban South regional winner will secure a spot in the SPAR KZN Schoolgirls’ Hockey Challenge Grand Finals later this year at St Mary’s DSG. The regional champion will be accompanied by the likes of Maris Stella (Durban Central), St Mary’s DSG (Highway Central), Epworth School (Pietermaritzburg Central), and St Anne’s (Pietermaritzburg North), who have already qualified.
Fans who cannot watch live in person can still watch all the action live through the SuperSport Schools app.
