Aircraft are set to dazzle the skies of Pietermaritzburg this weekend with the Pietermaritzburg Airshow. Plane enthusiasts get ready to feast your eyes on a yak, impala and a chipmunk. The show forms part of the KZN Winter Air Tour.

Every year thousands from around the country flock to this popular event. Before the airshow begins, organisers will host a development programme for around 500 scholars to increase awareness of aviation and opportunities in the industry. A selection will be offered the opportunity to fly for the first time. “We are proud to be in partnership with the KZN Winter Air Tour,” said Federal Airlines, who together with the KZN Winter Air Tour, provide an opportunity for individuals to develop and experience a taste of the world of Aviation.

There will also be stalls selling food and trinkets or buy yourself an aeroplane toy.

The airshow takes place at Pietermarizburg Airport. Gates open at 9am with the show starting at 10am. Between 12 and 1pm audience can get a close look at aircrafts and meet pilots.
