Biomimicry talk planned for Botanic Society AGM

Claire is a biomimicry professional and sustainability and innovation adviser.

CLAIRE Janisch, founder and director of BiomimicrySA, will speak on ‘Biomimicry: Innovation inspired by nature’ at the Botanical Society of KZN coastal branch AGM on Sunday, 20 July at Durban’s Botanic Gardens visitors centre at 3pm.

Claire ‘s presentation will introduce the field of biomimicry including inspiring case studies to illustrate, with a focus on the world of plants and what we are learning from them.

Biomimicry shows that a sustainable world already exists. Innovative solutions to our sustainability and other design challenges already exist within nature and have been tested over eons to be truly effective. Nature’s ecosystems offer a vision of a world that works for life rather than against it. Biomimicry offers a practical approach to get there.
