TUESDAY, 13 DECEMBER: Birdlife Port Natal holds a talk at 9.30am for 10am, where Brent Coverdale will be talking about alien birds at Kranzkloof Interpretive Centre. Entrance costs R20 and tea and coffee will be served. Email Tessa White tessadavid@telkomsa.net.
FRIDAY, 16 DECEMBER: Yellowwood Park Women’s Institute Christmas party at Wendy Hendersen’s house from noon. A reminder for members to take along all their utensils.
THURSDAY, 19 JANUARY 2017: KZN branch of the South African Military History Society meets at 7pm for 7.30pm in the Murray Lecture Theatre, Department of Civil Engineering at UKZN Howard College campus. The Society usually meets on the second Thursday of each month, with the exception of January. The lecture programme will revert to the second Thursday in February. There will be two talks: Darrell Hall memorial lecture entitled “The Indo-China Soldiers at Clairwood” by Arthur Gammage and the main talk entitled “The Battle of Vaalkrans – defeat snatched from the jaws of victory” by Ken Gillings.
