FRIXXL narrating his experiences through music
Lyrics to heal a broken heart.
Tshepang Letsoela known as FRIXXL (pronounced as Frizzle) is a local singer, songwriter, and producer who was born and bred in Pimville, Soweto.
FRIXXL described himself as an introvert and said he spends most of his time in the studio as a way of expressing himself. He recently released a single titled ‘Sol’ that was inspired by an experience he had with his university sweetheart that ended because of rumours.
The therapy song was to help Letsoela heal from a broken heart coursed by his girlfriend’s friend who was allegedly spreading lies about him.
“We had a good thing going but the relationship ended abruptly, I found out later that her friend was spreading lies about me.

“This song was a mean of me expressing how I felt about the whole situation. It’s one of the rare times I was fully vulnerable on a record,” he explained.
Letsoela started out as a member of a collective called PurpLord$ and he has worked on two projects one is a mixtape titled PurpLord$ and an E.P titled Chronicles of Hood Dynamics (C.H.D) which caught the attention of the underground rap scene in Soweto.
He alluded that his sound ranges from the fun trap, inspired beats and lyrics, psychedelic sounds, chopped beats reminiscent of the golden era, as well as songs that are introspective and touch on his lived experiences.

Apart from making music, the artist has been involved in Volunteer work in NGOs in his community at Life Tree Youth club helping kids improve their reading and English schoolwork.
He said he hopes to change people’s perception of Hip-Hop music in his community since it has a negative image.
