The Freedom Park derby was nothing short of goals and entertainment for supporters who witnessed rivals Rangers City Spurs FC and Aaron clash in the Eldorado Local Football Association U17 Junior League over the weekend.
Rangers are now prompted to strategise for future games after suffering a 3-1 defeat against Aaron FC. This marked their first loss in five matches, compromising their race for the top spot against log leaders Kliptown Youth Program FC.

Rangers head coach Lesego Mutshayi admitted they did not expect to lose this encounter, especially after coming off four consecutive wins.
“We started well, but defensive mistakes cost us the game. Our defence made a lot of errors, and we were punished from the penalty spot in the first half. Five minutes later, they extended their lead with a long-range shot,” said Mutshayi.
He added that they created chances in the second half but failed to convert them.
“We fought and got a penalty, but missed it. We later missed a one-on-one chance. Eventually, we scored, but unfortunately, our opposition extended their lead again,” he explained.
Despite switching to an attacking 3-5-2 formation, Rangers could not secure three points.

Aaron FC chairman and U12/U15 coach Aroon Dimba expressed gratitude to the team for securing their fourth consecutive win, crediting U17 coach Lissani Santos for the achievement.
“Some players were promoted to the senior team because they will eventually join the first team next year. This helps prepare them while they still face their peers in the U17 league,” said Dimba.
