Dikgabane Primary School pupils will have to spend the month of January with no food during lunchtime, this came after their school’s mobile kitchen was broken into and utensils stolen.
The school principal Mita Mtshali said this situation is destroying their plans and preparations.
“We had planned well for our nutrition project and now instead of giving children food, we are stuck with empty pots and have to go and seek sponsorship because we cannot allow our children to stay hungry.
“We are very disappointed by the whole situation here and something needs to be done to stop these criminals from terrorising us.”
Moroka Police Station communications officer John Serala said: “we have planned on embarking on school monitoring campaigns aimed at fighting such crimes which affect school children’s health and their education, so we will also make sure that we visit the school and see what can be done,”
