Young musicians from Chiawelo aiming for the top
Young artists juggling their music career with school
Young artists, Terrence “MAC Terry” Ndiambani and Faranani “Millez” Matsa are on a mission to uplift their music careers.
The two Chiawelo musicians have just released their album and they say they are commemorating South Africa’s deputy president, Cyril Ramaphosa.
“We have a passion for music and we started singing in 2006. We perform at local concerts, weddings, parties and we also organise our events,” said Ndiambani.
Matsa said they started to sing to avoid loitering and substance abuse.
“We have a great deal of community support and our manager, Michael Matsa is trying by all means to promote us,” said Matsa.
The youngsters are doing Grade 12 and are also studying hard as they are looking forward to passing matric.
“We have time for our books and can manage music as well,” said Ndiambani.
Both musicians are looking forward to becoming well-known artists and want to perform overseas one day.
So far they have no sponsorship and according to Michael, he is funding the boys out of his pocket.
“We are looking for anyone in the community to help us with funds. “Transport is usually our major hiccup when we have to travel to other townships,” said Michael.
Their next performance will be held at the Miss Chiawelo event which will be taking place soon.
