Man shot and killed in Protea South

Community mourns loss of important member

A man was shot and killed in an alleged hit in the early hours of Friday morning in Protea South.

The man was shot seven times at around 04:30 outside his home according to a close source.

“I was taking a leak when I heard seven shots and [the victim] screaming. I immediately ran outside and I found my uncle lying on the ground,” the source said.

The victim was allegedly still alive when he was found  but was delayed care that might have been lifesaving according to the source.

“I experienced everything first hand…I saw everything that happened. I just can’t be okay with everything I saw. I still hear him scream, I still hear the gunshots and I still see that same image I saw that morning,” explained the source.

Protea South community members describe the deceased as a fun loving person who loved making jokes.
