On December, 21 the Acting Station Commander Colonel Monegi , Communications, and Social Crime Prevention met with the heads of the Faith-Based Organizations within the Eldorado Park Sector one and two regions to discuss the way of bringing Eldorado Park SAPS and the members of the community together via an integrated approach, using Devine Intervention.

The plans for the integrated approach and community feedback sessions, including that of the Devine Intervention Approach was well received by the Faith-Based Organizations.

The Community Policing Forum Chairperson, Dominique Palmer was also present to pledge the support of the CPF.

Colonel Monegi indicated that “for as long as the community is against the Police, the only ones that will be winning is the criminals, and therefore it is important that the community once again trusts the Police”. Colonel Monegi also added that” we shouldn’t allow these criminals to take over our community, and not allow anyone to demoralize the Greater Eldorado Park community”.

The Faith-Based Organizations indicated that they will give Eldorado Park SAPS their complete support, as they believe will move the Greater Eldorado Park forward. The corrective measures that have been put into place will be addressed to the community, and they will be given feedback concerning what the Eldorado Park SAPS is doing to address crime, and also the opportunity to suggest what way forward will work addressing specific crimes being committed related to the Greater Eldorado Park solely.

All in attendance agreed that with a plan of action as such, issues ranging from drug-related matters to Gender-Based Violence will see a significant decrease.
