Youngster caught with dagga worth R3-million in Freedom Park
The arrest was made after the police received a tip-off from their sources regarding illegal activities in the area.
On Thursday January 19 at approximately 09:40AM, the Eldorado Park SAPS Visible Policing members arrested a 21year old male suspect for possession of dagga in Freedom Park.

The arrest was made after the police received a tip-off from their sources regarding illegal activities in the area.

Police spokesperson, Sergeant Roxanne Gibb said police immediately responded to the tip off and found the suspect at the given address in possession of 18 bales and seven small plastic bags containing dagga.
The street value of the dagga confiscated is estimated to be at R3 million.
Following the arrest of the suspect, two males aged between 23 and 31 arrived at the Eldorado Park Police Station and attempted to bribe police officers with R3000 for the release of the suspect.

The two were arrested on charges of bribery and detained at the police station.
“All exhibits were handed in for safekeeping and the aforementioned suspects will appear before the respective court during the course of the week,” explained Sergeant Gibb.
“The District Commissioner, Major General Max Masha addressed all involved in the success and motivated the members to continue shutting down dealers and all illegal activities within the policing precinct.”
Meanwhile on January 10, the Eldorado Park SAPS members arrested a 35 year old male in possession of more than 3000 mandrax tablets and dagga.

“The Eldorado Park SAPS Station Commander, Vispol Commander and all component heads have numerous operations planned and will continue with the high visibility and patrols within the Greater Eldorado Park,” concluded Sergeant Gibb.
