Eldos police nab suspects with unlicensed firearms and drugs
Police in Eldorado Park arrested two suspects for illegal firearms and a 57-year-old woman for drug dealing in a night of swift and decisive operations.
Crime Prevention Unit from Eldorado Park SAPS, working with a Gauteng Traffic Warden, arrested two suspects on the evening of January 18.
The arrests followed a complaint about a black VW Polo GTI without registration plates allegedly being used in random shootings.

Eldorado Park SAPS media liaison officer Sergeant Fezeka Khobo said while performing routine crime prevention duties, the officers spotted a vehicle matching the description on Main Road, Eldorado Park.

Upon stopping the vehicle, two suspects attempted to flee on foot, but the officers apprehended them.
“A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed two unlicensed firearms, for which the suspects had no permits.

“The officers arrested both on charges of illegal possession of firearms and detained them at the Eldorado Park SAPS cells.
“They also booked in the vehicle for further investigation at Vehicle Identification Services (VIS).”
In a separate incident on the same evening, police arrested a 57-year-old woman for allegedly dealing with drugs. The arrest occurred at the Westgate Flats while officers responded to another complaint of gunfire.

“The officers caught the suspect attempting to dispose of drugs and cash by flushing them down the toilet,” said Khobo.
