Gauteng police crack down on drugs and weapons in Eldorado Park

The Gauteng Department of Community Safety says co-ordinated operations in Eldorado Park led to several arrests, with suspects caught in possession of mandrax, crystal meth, a stun grenade and live ammunition.

The Gauteng Department of Community Safety has confirmed multiple arrests in Eldorado Park as part of intensified efforts to combat drug-related crime and illegal weapons in the community.

According to the department, the Gauteng Traffic Police and Gauteng Traffic Wardens, working in conjunction with the SAPS, acted on community tip-offs and conducted routine patrols in high-risk areas.

Two suspects were arrested after being found with a stun grenade and live ammunition.

In one operation at Tjiovitjio Squatter Camp, officers arrested a suspect after he was allegedly spotted attempting to sell drugs to a young girl.

A search revealed crystal meth, 10 quarter mandrax pills and six half mandrax pills.

In a separate incident in Eldorado Park Ext 4, police apprehended another suspect who was found with 49 full mandrax pills.

Further operations led to the arrest of two male suspects in possession of a stun grenade and live ammunition.

The Gauteng Department of Community Safety has vowed to intensify operations against drugs and illegal weapons in Eldorado Park.
