Armed robbers make off with cellphones worth R13 000 in Protea Glen house raid

Armed criminals stole two cellphones worth over R13 000 during an early morning robbery in Ext 39.

The police in Protea Glen are investigating a house robbery that happened in Ext 39, Elephant Eye, early in the morning of October 25.

According to the SAPS, the homeowner was sitting with his neighbour when two armed men entered the house through the kitchen door.

A third stood outside near the dining room window. All three wore face masks.

The man outside fired a shot and demanded cellphones, so the victims gave the robbers an iPhone 13 worth R11 000 and a Samsung A5 worth R2 500.

After the robbery, the homeowner went to Protea Glen SAPS and opened a case. Officers later changed the charge from armed robbery to house robbery.
