Police arrest suspect after woman found murdered in Meadowlands Zone 3

The Meadowlands Zone 3 community is shocked and heartbroken following the brutal murder of a 39-year-old woman whose body was discovered near Masekhene Primary School.

The community is in mourning following the brutal murder of a woman whose body was discovered early on Monday morning, November 10.

According to family spokesperson Tshepiso Maphike, the woman failed to return home the previous night.

Repeated attempts to reach her were unsuccessful until the family received a devastating call early the next morning informing them of the discovery of a body believed to be their loved one.

The family rushed to Itumeleng Street, where they reportedly followed a trail of blood that led them to the lifeless body.

The woman was found with a visible open wound on her forehead.

Community members told authorities they heard a wheelie bin being moved during the early hours of the morning.

It is believed the culprit used the bin to transport and dump her body near Masekhene Primary School.

Police have since launched an investigation into the circumstances surrounding her death.

Maphike said the family has placed its trust in law enforcement to uncover the truth and bring the culprit to justice.

A person of interest has since been taken into police custody in connection with the murder.
