Police investigate murder after man found dead in Diepkloof open space

Diepkloof police have initiated a murder investigation following the discovery of an unidentified man's body in the Ellias Motsoaledi informal settlement.

Authorities opened a murder case after police were alerted by the Detective Branch Commander about the body found at the location.

Upon their arrival, officers were directed by a community member to the man’s body lying on the ground.

Preliminary investigations indicated that the man had sustained stab wounds on the left side of his chest and the right side of his neck. He was found wearing one shoe, while the other shoe was located a short distance away.

All relevant authorities, including the Forensic Pathology Services, attended the scene. The body was transported to the Diepkloof Mortuary, where a post-mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Police confirmed that the man’s identity remains unknown at this time. Investigations are ongoing to locate the perpetrator and establish the motive behind the killing.
