A representative from the Green Door offices, a community-based organisation, Thato Malele, has confirmed the growing concern.

Malele said the incidents have created fear and insecurity within the community.

“We can confirm that at least four separate cases have been formally reported to the South African Police Service,” said Malele.

He added that the organisation is working closely with law enforcement agencies to address the situation and strengthen community safety.

“One of the key identifying features of the suspects is their use of balaclavas to conceal their faces during the alleged robberies, making immediate identification difficult,” he said.

Malele further encouraged residents to report any suspicious activity to the police.
