Eldorado Park Police Station’s Crime Prevention Unit members, alongside Gauteng Traffic Wardens, were conducting their normal Crime Prevention Duties in all four sectors on February 11.

“While patrolling, the members received information about a group of men wearing all black, walking around the flats of Milnerton and Arlberg Street, Eldorado Park Ext 4, allegedly planning to shoot and take revenge.

“As information further alleged that these heavily armed men belong to a certain group of a gang,” said the spokesperson of Eldorado Park police, Sergeant Fezeka Khobo.

The members proceeded to the mentioned address and, upon arrival, saw the exact description of those men.

“The men ran in different directions upon seeing the police approaching, but the members managed to catch one of them.

“One man was found in possession of a 9mm pistol firearm, silver grey with a black handle, loaded with six live ammunition, and the serial number filed off was found on his waist.”

The man was then arrested for possession of an unlicensed firearm and ammunition, detained at Eldorado Park Police Station cells for further police investigation, and exhibits were seized.
