Two killed, four injured in Zamimpilo tavern shooting

The suspects are unknown at this stage and the motive of the shooting is yet to be determined.

The SAPS is investigating two counts of murder and four counts of attempted murder following a shooting incident that took place during the early hours of May 10 at approximately 03: 00 at Zamimpilo informal settlement, Langlaagte.

It is alleged that a group of more than 40 patrons were sitting outside a tavern, drinking and socialising, when three unknown suspects approached the crowd and opened fire without saying anything.

Six people were shot during the incident; two adult males were fatally wounded, while four other victims were transported to the hospital for medical treatment.

Spokesperson of the SAPS, Captain Tintswalo Sibeko, said: ‘’The suspects are unknown at this stage, and the motive for the attack is yet to be determined. Police investigations are ongoing.’’
