DA raises concerns over dirty linen at Baragwanath Hospital
Jack Bloom alleges that the in-house machine has not been working for over a month.
The DA Gauteng Shadow MEC for Health, Jack Bloom, has raised concerns over the recent linen shortage at The Chris Hani Baragwanath Hospital.
With the disturbing images shared of the pilling of dirty linen at the hospital, Bloom alleged that the in-house laundry machines have been broken for over a month now and that as a result, some operations have been rescheduled.

“A provincial laundry service is doing some of the linen, but it is inadequate and leads to delays in getting enough clean linen,” Bloom said.
“Conditions in the wards are deteriorating as beds do not have clean linen, pushing up the risk of infection.”
