Braai Masters brings magic to Klipspruit

Tshepang Lechelele, a 34-year-oldShisanyama owner from Limpopo, takes home R50,000 in the Ultimate Shisanyama Experience competition.

Chaf Pozi in Klipspruit, Soweto hosted the Ultimate Shisanyana Experience (USE) on January 25.

Bafana Bafana players and their colleagues, the Freddy Hirsch team and supporters were in attendance.

The space was filled with excitement as fans took pictures and interacted with the players and winners.

The guests were welcomed by the smell of a delicious braai.

In April 2024, Freddy Hirsch partnered with the South African Football Association (SAFA) to become Bafana Bafana’s exclusive Shisanyama partner.

This collaboration introduced the ‘Heroes’ spice blend, branded with the slogan ‘Our Heroes, Our Spice,’ aimed to honour and celebrate South African heritage.

Winner Tshepang Lechelele shares how money has changed his life drastically.

The involvement of the football legend Lucas Radebe, brand ambassador of the Heroes brand underscored the campaign’s goals of uniting communities through the shared passion of football and Shisanyama.

As part of the campaign, the USE competition was launched, offering fans a chance to win R50 000 in cash and a day with Lucas Radebe and 10 friends, emphasising the creation of lasting memories over delicious food.

The legend shared how this took him back home especially because communities are seen as fans and during this, he was able to bond with the fans in different communities.

Group head of marketing of Freddy Hirsch, Clive Moore said the journey has been exciting and this was their idea of launching a truly South African brand.

‘’The idea around USE was for people to enjoy it with us.

The winner of the Ultimate Shisanyama Experience competition is 34-year-old Tshepang Lechelele from Limpopo Zebediela who owns a Shisanyama at Siyabuswa.

“We went around the country to activate the competition and got to see each of our customers who use the Heroes brand.

“They interacted with us and the players, which made everything special.’’

The winner of the USE competition was 34-year-old Tshepang Lechelele from Limpopo Zebediela who owns a Shisanyama at Siyabuswa.

‘’This is my first time entering a competition and I won! The money will be used to renovate my business and I will also put it towards another branch in a different location. I am beyond grateful for this,’’ said Lechelele.
