Faith-based book aims to inspire young minds in Eldos community

Empowering the next generation with faith—introducing a new book that's changing lives.

In a bid to nurture the spiritual growth of children in the community and beyond, Angie Griffin and Mount Carmel Ministry (MCM) from Circle Road, Extension 5 in Eldorado Park have co-authored a book on the Fruit of the Spirit (FOTS).

Published in December 2024, the book is a collaborative effort between Griffin, MCM Sunday school teachers and the children.

Griffin was inspired to write FOTS during a Sunday service at MCM where Pastor Mike Bobby spoke about the topic.

She said the Holy Spirit prompted her to write a book specifically for the Sunday school children.

Griffin shared her idea with Bobby and together they embarked on the project.

Fruit of the Spirit was co-authored by Angie Griffin and Mount Carmel Ministry members including children and teachers.

She collaborated with teachers and children, who created the illustrations for the book, making it a truly community-driven initiative.

According to Sunday school teacher Aloysius Stackling, the book aims to introduce children to the concept of the Fruit of the Spirit based on Galatians 5:22-23.

Through colourful illustrations and simple language, the book explains what each fruit represents and how children can apply these values in their daily lives.

“We want to empower our children with the knowledge of God’s Word and help them develop a strong spiritual foundation,” said Stackling.

“Our goal is to make the Bible accessible and fun for children and we believe this book will be a valuable tool in achieving that goal.”

“We encourage parents to buy the book and take time to read it with their children. The book is designed to be interactive and we believe both parents and children will benefit from reading it together.”

“We have noticed a change in the children’s behaviour and attitude since we started teaching them from the book,” said Stackling.

“The book was published in December, but the teachings started a while ago. The children are more confident, selfless and eager to learn more.”
