Police warn of recruitment scams for 2024/2025

5 500 SAPS trainees are set to become the backbone of SA's crime-fighting efforts after completing 24 months of rigorous training.

The SAPS warned the public about misinformation circulating on social media, suggesting that a third batch of trainees will be called for training.

Communicating through its social media platforms, the SAPS explained that the advertised information is false, adding that the recruitment and selection process has officially closed.

This follows after the recruitment drive reached its target to recruit 5 500 police trainees for the 2024/25 intake.

Earlier in the year, the SAPS welcomed 3 314 trainees making it a total of 5 500 trainees countrywide.

These trainees will be embarking on a life-changing journey as they dedicate themselves to serving and protecting South African citizens.

The newly recruited trainees will undergo a 24-month training programme, which includes 12 months at the academy and 12 months in the workplace.

Upon completing their training, they will be permanently enlisted in the SAPS as constables.
