Seven armed robbery suspects nabbed in Eldorado Park
After a thorough search was done, five unlicensed firearms, three live rounds of ammunition and two knives were found.
JMPD officers arrested seven heavily armed suspects in Eldorado Park, Region D, on the evening of March 8 while a routine patrol was being conducted.
It is reported that officers received a tip-off from members of the community of Ward 119 regarding a silver Toyota Avanza that was involved in armed robberies in Eldorado Park.
The vehicle was located at the intersection of the Golden Highway and Union Avenue, Eldorado Park.

After a thorough search was done, five unlicensed firearms, three live rounds of ammunition and two knives were found.
Officers also recovered two wallets containing bank cards, three cellphones, a pair of scissors, a school bag and a hookah pipe. It was further discovered that the vehicle the suspects were using was stolen.
‘’This successful operation is a testament to the dedication and vigilance of our officers and the invaluable partnership we have with the community.
“We are sending a clear message that criminal activity will not be tolerated,’’ said JMPD chief of police, Patrick Jaca.

All seven male suspects were arrested and detained at Eldorado Park SAPS with charges of robbery, possession of unlicensed firearms and possession of a stolen motor vehicle.
The vehicle was seized and booked in at the SAPS Lenasia pound for further verification. Jaca added that they will continue to work tirelessly to ensure residents are safe.
