Local businesses commemorate Freedom Day in Expo

Business owners are welcome to join the expo, including those specialising in fashion, art, food and music.

The Naeto World Media, in partnership with the Whitehouse in Soweto, is bringing small businesses together and showcasing their services in the Ekse Soweto Small Business Expo and Picnic at the WhiteHouse on April 27.

In honour of Freedom Day, the teams aim to encourage the spirit of sharing and showcase that everyone has the right to trade freely and become business owners.

“This is the second instalment of the small business expo and picnic, and this year will be bigger and better.

“We will have a family day set-up for our attendees, with a children’s area comprising a game zone, a soft play area, a jumping castle, face painting, a pool and some small businesses catering for the children since they will have a loaded day.

“Our picnic area will be fun-filled for adults, with over 30 business stalls, eight DJs, two live performances and an awesome ambience created by the Naeto World team,” said the co-founder of Naeto World Media, Thubelihle Dunga.

“We invite all small businesses around Soweto and the surrounding areas to come together and showcase their products and services to our patrons and other businesses expo-style, aiming to bridge the gap requiring certain services and knowing where to get them.

“We also aim to showcase what the area has in terms of businesses and grow the township economy.

“Various businesses and owners are welcome to join us, including those specialising in fashion, art, food and music.”
