Upcoming career expo set to empower youth in Eldos

This event is aimed at empowering the youth and to provide valuable resources for students, job seekers and those considering a career change.

The community of Eldorado Park is invited to a career guidance expo and the launch of the SpringBots 100 Teams Programme taking place from February 27 to 28 and March 1 at Don Mateman Hall.

Project coordinator Alicia McPherson expressed excitement about hosting the career expo which also aims to bridge the gap between education and employment.

“Our goal is to empower our youth with the skills, knowledge and networking opportunities needed to succeed in their chosen careers.

“We believe that by investing in our youth, we are investing in the future of Eldorado Park and we are committed to making a positive impact in our community.”

The two-day expo will feature a wide range of activities and resources, including:
· Skills development workshops.
· Career booths and industry insights.
· Job and internship opportunities.
· Résumé and interview coaching.
· Networking with professionals.

A highlight of the event is the launch of the SpringBots 100 Teams Programme scheduled for March 1 from 12:00 to 13:00.

The national robotics team will be handing out kits to local teams selected to participate in this innovative program.

UNISA will also offer free training sessions and attendees will have the opportunity to engage with representatives from the department of education, AI experts and more.
