Skills roadshow offers jobs and training in Eldorado Park
Eldorado Park residents can access career and training opportunities at a skills roadshow on 12 September.
Angles of Hands (AoH) NPO from Eldorado Park is inviting residents to a roadshow aimed at fostering community empowerment and providing skills development opportunities for youth in partnership with various stakeholders.
The event will take place at 78 Sirkel Road, Ext 5, Eldorado Park, on September 12, from 9:00 to 12:00.
The local organisation has partnered with the Gauteng Department of Social Development, NYDA, Harambee, and Tshepo 1Million to expose Eldorado Park youth to a variety of opportunities.

The AoH board consists of chairperson Angus Mace, vice-chairperson Burnett Baadjies, treasurer Jerome Whitten, secretary Isabel Petersen, and additional members Ronal Muller and Roseline Botha.
Mace said the community is struggling as many residents battle substance abuse, drug addiction, and exposure to gangs and violence. He attributed the lack of local skills development centres to one of the contributing factors.
“People travel far to attend skills development programmes. We arranged this one to be central so the whole community can come and apply,” he explained.
“We are not just focusing on youth empowerment because most programmes and job opportunities are limited to people aged between 18 and 35. As a skills centre, we see it as a social responsibility to also assist those over 35 by offering different types of courses,” he added.
Mace further noted that their main goal is to see agencies come out and upskill people for employment within the community.

“Residents are really struggling, even when it comes to basic survival. That’s why we asked the department to come on board with all the stakeholders,” he said.
Attendees are advised to bring CVs, academic records, and copies of their IDs.
